We are looking for a product-oriented Staff Engineer to lead the development of AI-powered features, working with product management and AI platform teams to build AI agents and extensible systems. As a technical anchor in the organization, you will provide oversight and guidance for our full scope of systems, AI and otherwise, and help engineers become proficient with AI-oriented development. Lead the development of high-visibility AI product initiatives in Notebooks Navigate tradeoffs between time-to-market and feature quality as we iterate towards excellence Stay current with standards and best practices in the evolving AI landscape Architect, implement and oversee systems from inception through deployment and delivery to customers Lead the development, maintenance and growth of key services, APIs and user experiences Provide technical oversight and leadership across organizational boundaries Mentor and grow other engineers on the team and beyond Who You Are

BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience 10+ years of relevant engineering experience Experience leading cross-team initiatives in product-oriented development Strong customer empathy and a drive to make an impact Experience building agentic workflows for customer-facing products, or strong interest in doing so Datadog values people from all walks of life.
