Overview

We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer with deep experience in AI/ML to join Datadog’s Graphing organization. The Graphing organization develops Datadog’s suite of core tools: Dashboards, Notebooks, Sheets, search capabilities, and data-visualization toolkits used across Datadog. This role focuses on AI-driven workflows for natural-language-queries, graph generation, automated investigations, and related capabilities. This is a technical leadership role focused on GenAI/ML at scale and shaping product direction with a strong product mindset. What You’ll Do

Act as a technical leader driving GenAI/ML projects from concept to production. Build and benchmark GenAI/ML models using state-of-the-art techniques. Establish a high standard of technical excellence for ML development in Graphing. Mentor engineers and influence engineering culture through design reviews, technical talks, and working groups. Influence product direction by advocating for the end user and applying a strong product mindset to your work. Guide teams through ambiguity, scaling challenges, and evolving requirements with clear technical direction. Who You Are

You have a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience. 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including experience acting as a technical lead. Proven track record of leading large-scale GenAI/ML initiatives in a product-driven environment. Significant experience in model deployment, development, training, fine-tuning, and evaluation. Ability to drive initiatives across cross-functional teams and solve ambiguous challenges. Benefits and Growth
