Sr Director, Technology - Actuarial, ML/AI Engineering, and Modernization at Liberty Mutual Insurance.
This role leads the Global Data and Advanced Analytics (GDAA) team within Global Risk Solutions (GRS). You will define and drive the data strategy, lead technical teams, deliver cloud-based solutions, advance ML/AI/Gen AI practices, and support data modernization initiatives across multiple environments and business groups. You will partner with customers, data engineering, data science, and business subject matter experts to prioritize needs and enable innovative solutions that advance GRS and enterprise capabilities.
Base pay range
$175,000.00/yr - $315,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
Direct the strategic design and development of capabilities and systems across multiple environments and business groups, implementing best software development practices.
Communicate department/enterprise vision, strategies, critical success factors, and plans; develop high-level plans.
Anticipate technology evolution and align it with business solutions; set direction based on industry trends and standards.
Hire and manage lower level managers; coach and counsel managers on leadership techniques.
Define staffing strategy and plan (FTEs, skills, depth of experience, internal/external mix) to meet department needs.
Establish department objectives and develop a high-performing software development organization.
Foster partnerships with clients, vendors, and executives to align with business strategies and improve efficiency.
Oversee multiple projects’ scope, schedule, operating plan, resource allocation, and prioritization.
Establish financial targets with business partners and ensure project delivery to plan.
Develop and maintain industry networks; analyze trends and make strategic/tactical recommendations.
Ensure system, technical, and product architectures align with business objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a technical or business discipline; Master's preferred.
Typically 15+ years related experience with 5+ years in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies and their application to business opportunities.
Strong knowledge of business operations, objectives, and strategies.
Experience with project planning methodologies, IT standards, and guidelines.
Advanced management concepts, practices, and techniques; ability to lead multiple teams.
Strong negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills; excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
