firm is looking for Senior AI Engineer that is an ace in Python to serve as a Back End Developer to build out custom
Agentic AI agents
to directly support Investment Portfolio Managers and Investment Research Teams. Must have
7 or more years using
Python ,
and 2+ working with
LLM APIs, retrieval -augmented generation, vector databases, and implemented cloud-native systems on
AWS
(EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, Terraform).
This role is focused on building robust, production-grade backend systems and platforms that integrate advanced analytics and AI capabilities into investment workflows.
Seeking a very
hands-on
engineer responsible for implementing and scaling applications that leverage modern
AI
technologies while adhering to high standards of reliability, security, and performance. The ideal candidate is a strong
backend engineer
with platform instincts, capable of translating ambiguous business problems into well-designed systems and production-ready software. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of
engineering, data,
and
investment research .
Implementation of
AI-enabled
applications and services supporting
investment
and
research
workflows.
Build and maintain scalable backend systems,
APIs,
and data pipelines that integrate
AI models, LLMs , and analytics services into business processes.
Implement
cloud-native systems on AWS , ensuring strong security, scalability, cost efficiency, and operational resilience.
Evaluate and incorporate emerging AI technologies (e.g.,
LLM s,
retrieval-augmented
generation , model
API s,
vector databases ) where appropriate, with careful attention to governance, explainability, and limitations.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST
work for an
Investment Management
company ( NOT just a typical Bank
with checking accounts and loans). Must be working with investments research/real-time stock trading, etc. in the " Equity Investment Research Space " that has helped
Portfolio Managers & Research Analysts
determine company and stock values and trends. Must have dealt with
real-time
mission-critical
investment trading platforms.
Must
work onsite 4 days a week
in Boston, MA.
Technical degree is required (prefer MS) along with
7+ years
of experience as a Software Engineer using
Python,
including 2 years building
AI apps
at work.
MUST
be an expert building out custom
Agentic AI agents
at a top
Investment Management Firm
known for only hiring the 'best of the best.'
Must have worked on cloud-native systems on
AWS
(not Azure). Strong using AWS services like
EC2, ECS, Lambda,
S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM, CloudFormation
or
Terraform.
Must have experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems, including
LLM APIs
and
retrieval
systems ( vector databases ).
Strong knowledge of
data storage technologies
(relational & NoSQL), caching layers, and performance optimization.
Exposure to frontend technologies (e.g.,
React, TypeScript ) is a plus.
MUST BE a great
English communicator
with ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting a business-critical production environment. Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work with cross‑functional teams including data scientists, researchers, and business partners. xsgimln
