The Sr. AI Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing advanced artificial intelligence solutions that drive innovation and efficiency in AbsenceSoft’s leave management platform. Operating at a Sr. Manager level, this role focuses on developing scalable AI models, enhancing automation capabilities, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to integrate AI into core software features. The Sr. AI Engineer provides expert-level technical contributions, drives experimentation, and ensures responsible and ethical application of AI technologies across the organization.

What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning models for automation, analytics, and decision support.
Collaborate with product managers and engineers to align AI solutions with business needs and product strategies.
Conduct research and proof-of-concepts for new AI applications in the leave management domain.
Optimize algorithms and models for performance, accuracy, and scalability.
Implement MLOps best practices for model training, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Partner with data engineering teams to ensure clean, reliable, and secure training data pipelines.
Ensure compliance with ethical AI practices, including fairness, bias detection, and transparency.
Leverage NLP, computer vision, or other AI domains to enhance product capabilities.
Troubleshoot and refine AI solutions to maintain reliability and user trust.
Document design decisions, technical processes, and deployment frameworks.
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure data privacy and regulatory adherence.
Stay current with emerging AI technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
Participate in a highly compliant environment while assisting to maintain company controls and security within your job role.
Assist in maintaining applicable organizational security and compliance controls within your department, role, and subordinate’s roles.

What’ll Set You Up for Success
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
7+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in AI/ML development.
Proven experience in designing and deploying machine learning models in production
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related discipline.
Experience in SaaS or enterprise software platforms.
Familiarity with cloud AI services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, and Behaviors
Proficiency with Python and machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
Strong understanding of natural language processing, predictive modeling, and neural networks.
Experience with MLOps practices and automated model lifecycle management.
Knowledge of and ability to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and concepts.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical AI solutions.
Understanding of data pipelines, governance, and security principles.
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with cloud-based deployment of AI systems.
Commitment to ethical AI practices, including fairness, privacy, and transparency.
Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to integrate AI into products.
Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to staying current with AI advancements.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
