Team Overview:
The Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team is pivotal in realizing our AI vision at Capital One. Collaborate with partners across the organization to enhance the state of science and AI engineering through proprietary solutions that deliver substantial value to millions. Our AI models empower teams to incorporate transformative AI responsibly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team—engineers, research scientists, and product managers—to deliver AI-driven products that revolutionize our associates’ operations and customer interactions.
Design, develop, test, and deploy AI software components, covering everything from foundation model training to model observability and governance.
Utilize a wide array of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, and PyTorch.
Innovate and implement state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to enhance the performance—scalability, cost efficiency, and latency—of large-scale AI systems.
Contribute significantly to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields plus at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 4 years of experience in developing AI and ML technologies.
At least 6 years of programming experience with languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
Preferred Qualifications:
7 years of experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
Experience in designing and supporting complex AI systems.
A proven track record in mentoring engineering teams and influencing cross-functional collaboration.
Experience in developing AI techniques, including LLM Inference and VectorDBs.
A strong focus on optimizing training and inference software.
Exceptional communication skills, able to convey complex AI concepts clearly and effectively.
