Senior Applied AI Engineer

Overview

We’re working with a leading national organization that is scaling its Applied AI team to deliver enterprise-grade Generative AI solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on Senior Engineer who wants to take ownership of building and deploying cutting-edge AI applications while mentoring mid-level engineers and driving production-ready solutions. Compensation : Up to $170,000 base + 12-15% quarterly bonus. What You’ll Do Design, prototype, and deploy Generative AI solutions across client-facing and internal platforms.

Build applications leveraging LLMs, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and prompt engineering.

Lead development of chatbots and voice AI agents, ensuring scalability, compliance, and high-quality real-time interactions.

Deliver proof-of-concepts for use cases such as document summarization, classification, and knowledge assistants.

Partner with ML Ops to ensure robust pipelines, observability, and production-readiness.

Mentor mid-level engineers and help establish technical best practices.

Team Reporting directly to the Director of Applied AI.

Collaborating with a Senior Generative AI Product Manager, ML/AI Ops Engineer, and two mid-level AI Engineers.

Close partnership with Product, Data, and Engineering teams.

What We’re Looking For

Must Haves 6+ years in ML, NLP, AI engineering, SWE, or Data Engineering.

Proven track record of production-grade chatbot deployment in the past 2 years.

Advanced Python skills, with hands-on experience using LangChain, Hugging Face, Transformers, and OpenAI APIs.

Strong SQL (Snowflake is a plus).

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain AI outputs to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Haves Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Salesforce integration.

Experience in regulated industries.

Compensation & Location Up to $170,000 base salary + 12–15% bonus (paid quarterly).
