Team Description:
The Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team is integral to realizing our AI vision at Capital One. We collaborate across the organization to push the boundaries of AI science and engineering, developing proprietary solutions that deliver value to millions. Our models and platforms empower various teams to incorporate the transformative capabilities of AI responsibly and at scale.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that enhance associates' work and improve customer interactions.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components that include foundation model training, large language model inference, and model evaluation.
Utilize a broad array of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and PyTorch.
Innovate and implement state-of-the-art optimization techniques for large-scale production AI systems, focusing on scalability, cost-effectiveness, latency, and throughput.
Contribute to the vision and long-term strategy of foundational AI systems at Capital One.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in fields like Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines, with relevant AI and ML experience (6 or more years for Bachelor's; 4 or more years for Master's).
Extensive programming experience with languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java (at least 6 years).
Preferred Qualifications:
7 years of expertise in deploying scalable, responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms.
Experience in designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and maintaining complex AI systems.
Proven ability to mentor engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Familiarity with advanced AI/ML techniques, especially in areas like LLM and similarity search.
A passion for continuous learning in AI research and systems for practical application.
Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex AI concepts to diverse audiences.
