Our client, an investment firm, is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join their team in New York, NY!
This role is ideal for an experienced software engineer who understands how to design and build enterprise-scale systems while thoughtfully incorporating modern AI technologies into production environments.
Lead AI engineering initiatives from concept through production deployment. Design and build scalable enterprise applications using Python and modern software engineering best practices. Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-value AI opportunities and translate them into technical solutions. Make architectural decisions around AI model selection, orchestration, retrieval strategies, and system design. Build AI-powered applications leveraging enterprise data while ensuring scalability, maintainability, and cost efficiency. Evaluate tradeoffs between different LLMs, AI frameworks, and implementation approaches. Establish engineering standards and best practices for AI development, code quality, testing, and deployment. Collaborate across engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing enterprise platforms.
8+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise applications. ~ Strong Python development experience. ~ Experience building and deploying production software at scale. ~ Working knowledge of modern AI technologies including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic workflows, or AI APIs. ~ Experience evaluating technical tradeoffs between AI models and implementation approaches. ~ Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React or JavaScript. ~ Experience building AI-enabled enterprise applications. Exposure to cloud-native architectures and modern engineering practices. Financial services experience is helpful but not required.
