The Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team is pivotal in realizing our AI vision at Capital One. We collaborate with partners across the company to push the boundaries of AI science and engineering. We build proprietary solutions that deliver value to millions, enabling teams to enhance products using responsible and scalable AI approaches.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create innovative AI products that transform customer interactions.
Design, develop, test, and deploy critical AI software components including model training, inference, evaluation, and governance.
Utilize a comprehensive stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and PyTorch.
Develop and implement cutting-edge LLM optimization techniques to enhance the performance and scale of production AI systems.
Contribute to shaping the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with 6 years of experience in AI and ML development, or a Master's degree with 4 years of experience.
6+ years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.).
Experience in designing, developing, and delivering sophisticated AI systems.
Strong leadership skills with a history of mentoring engineering teams and influencing cross-functional collaborations.
Experience with AI and ML algorithm development, particularly in LLM inference, similarity search, and optimizing AI training and inference software.
A keen interest in AI research and practical application of state-of-the-art techniques.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to various audiences.
