Required Skills & Experience - Ten (10) or more years of software engineering experience, including at least four (4) years owning production -Generative AI or applied-AI systems in the field — agents, workflows, or applications, including evaluation, failure handling, and a human review loop — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n-Hands-on production experience on AWS, and hands-on Python, React, GitHub Actions, and Terraform, at a level sufficient to set the bar for a pod, not only meet it. Cloud certification or architecture-only experience without recent production code is not sufficient.\n-Experience leading technical delivery for a value stream or equivalent without people-management authority.\n-Experience in insurance, claims, healthcare, or another heavily regulated operational domain preferred.

Job Description

We're looking for a hands-on Principal AI Engineer to own the technical outcome of a major AI value stream. This person will work directly with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, shape ambiguous problems into solutions, and build production AI applications from concept through deployment. The ideal candidate has deep experience developing and operating GenAI applications using Python, React, AWS, Terraform, and GitHub Actions, and has personally shipped AI agents, workflows, or applications into production. This is not a management role; we need someone who still writes code daily and can set the engineering standard for other developers. Experience with evaluation frameworks, human-in-the-loop workflows, agentic systems, ML, graph databases, and AI observability is highly valued. Candidates should be comfortable partnering directly with end users, operating independently, and mentoring engineers while remaining a hands-on technical contributor.
