Pharma AI Engineer

AI EngineerInsight Global is seeking an AI Engineer to join a large pharmaceutical client in Tarrytown, NY (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). This individual will join the Solutions Engineering team supporting Research IT initiatives and serve as a bridge between foundational AI platforms and the developers, scientists, and technical stakeholders who rely on them.The AI Engineer will partner with cross-functional teams to understand research and business challenges, identify opportunities for AI enablement, and develop scalable AI-powered solutions that accelerate research efforts. This role requires a strong software engineering foundation, hands-on experience with modern AI technologies, and the ability to translate complex requirements into production-ready solutions.Responsibilities include designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining production-grade AI applications utilizing machine learning and large language model (LLM) technologies. The engineer will build solutions involving retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, model evaluation, and optimization strategies while developing primarily in Python. They will support the full AI software development lifecycle, including solution design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.This individual will work closely with developers, research teams, and IT stakeholders to advance foundational AI capabilities that can be leveraged across multiple teams and use cases. They will also evaluate emerging AI technologies, recommend innovative approaches, and collaborate with research stakeholders to understand scientific workflows and translate needs into scalable technical solutions.Pay is around 60-75/hr.
