We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our AI Platforms and Services Engineering team, a group at the forefront of delivering innovative AI solutions across the organization. Reporting directly to the Director of AI Platforms and Services, you will guide and develop engineering teams specializing in software engineering, machine learning engineering, and infrastructure engineering.

You will manage teams responsible for the full spectrum of AI service development, including building scalable AI-integrated products, machine learning engineering solutions, robust infrastructure, and reusable AI microservices/APIs. You will oversee teams delivering Gen AI applications utilizing RAG and scaling AI Agents for widespread deployment. Collaborate with Product Managers to translate the product roadmap into technical specifications, prioritize tasks by business value, and identify opportunities to enhance product capabilities.

The role involves partnering with key business stakeholders, leading cross-functional teams, and managing vendors, while championing software development and operational excellence through Agile and Lean practices to deliver market-differentiated solutions.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform management responsibilities including hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management, and staff productivity; direct day-to-day operations and develop/implement policies and programs; may have budgetary responsibility.

Understand budget and resource utilization across product teams; escalate issues regarding budgets and review action plans with product owners.

Provide oversight of all aspects of the application product life cycle to ensure operational excellence and continuous process improvement.

Contribute thought leadership and industry expertise to strategic planning and execution for current and future products.

Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization through presentations and reports.

Act as a coach and mentor to all members of the organization.

Define and create roadmaps and support the team in delivery.

Take ownership of critical impediments that scrum teams cannot resolve.

Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field OR 6 years progressive and related software engineering experience in lieu of a Bachelor degree

Preferred

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field

Experience Required

10 years of working with information technology

5 years in developing, presenting and communicating technical concepts to varying audiences, including 3 years in developing long term roadmaps

3 years in developing tactical solutions to diverse and complex business problems, including working with multiple technology systems designing solutions or developing applications in healthcare

3 years of management experience

Preferred

Proven experience leading and managing software engineering teams, including machine learning engineering and infrastructure engineering, in an Agile or Lean environment

Experience in platform engineering and full-stack software development with focus on scalable and reliable AI services

Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) with cloud-native AI deployments

Ability to translate product roadmaps and business requirements into detailed technical specifications

Experience with MLOps, CI/CD, model deployment, monitoring, and governance

Familiarity with AI as a Service (AIaaS) offerings and integration

Ability to collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders

Experience managing vendor relationships and outsourced development

Strong SDLC understanding with emphasis on testing, security, and documentation

Experience implementing Agile and Lean practices to promote software development and operational excellence

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Pay Range Minimum: $108,000.00

Maximum: $201,800.00

Base pay is determined by qualifications, experience, and other factors. The salary range may reflect geographic differentials.
