Our client is seeking a senior, hands-on engineer to shape a new generation of intelligent internal systems. This is an opportunity to work across the business, uncover high-value operational challenges, and turn them into production-ready software and AI solutions. Rather than owning a narrow feature set, you will have the freedom to identify where technology can create leverage, build the solution, launch it, and continue improving it based on real-world results.
This Role Offers: A highly autonomous engineering role with ownership from problem discovery through production. Focus: Build and launch AI-enabled internal products that reduce friction in everyday business processes. Take internal opportunities from discovery through architecture, implementation, release, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Partner with teams across the organization to turn operational challenges into useful technical products. Create reliable automations, integrations, and intelligent workflows that connect systems, data, and business processes. Apply sound engineering judgment to ambiguous problems while balancing delivery speed, maintainability, reliability, and business value. Contribute directly to backend, full-stack, or platform code while maintaining a strong standard for production quality. Collaborate effectively with technical stakeholders and business partners, clearly communicating tradeoffs and shaping practical solutions. Operate with significant autonomy in a fast-moving environment where priorities and requirements can evolve. Evaluate solutions after release, learn from usage and performance, and iterate to increase their effectiveness. Help establish practical engineering patterns for an expanding portfolio of internal AI systems.
Skill Set: Strong hands-on software engineering experience in backend, full-stack, or platform development, supported by solid programming fundamentals. A track record of personally building and shipping production software, AI applications, or automation systems. Demonstrated ownership across the software lifecycle, including problem definition, design, development, deployment, monitoring, and iteration. Strong independent problem-solving skills with the ability to create structure around unclear or changing requirements. A product-minded approach to internal systems, including the ability to understand business needs and translate them into practical technical solutions. Clear communication skills and comfort collaborating directly with both technical and non-technical colleagues. The autonomy and adaptability to succeed in a fast-paced, startup-style environment. Experience with APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, system integrations, or AI-enabled services is valuable. A background in building technology solutions that streamline processes, increase efficiency, or enhance internal tools is preferred. Sound judgment around reliability, maintainability, monitoring, and production support. An interest in applying AI where it creates meaningful operational value and solves real business problems.
