About the Role LeanScaper is hiring a Lead AI Engineer in Canada to own the next phase of its AI platform. This person will lead design and development of agentic workflows, connect data sources to LLMs, and architect scalable systems behind a chat-based interface. This is a generalist role with strong technical ownership. The Lead AI Engineer will collaborate directly with the VP of Engineering, ship production code within the first week, and contribute meaningfully within the first month. Key Responsibilities Architect and deploy agentic AI workflow

Own AI platform components including LLM integration, vector search, and fine-tuning

Build and scale data pipelines that support multi-tenant environments

Collaborate with product and leadership to define AI roadmap and capabilities

Research emerging AI technologies to improve relevance and performance

Establish technical best practices and mentor engineers across the team

Track and reduce LLM hallucinations; ensure data quality and observability

What They're Looking For Experience shipping production AI products using LLMs

Strong knowledge of LLM orchestration tools (LangChain, LlamaIndex), vector databases (Pinecone, pg_vector), and evaluation platforms (LangSmith)

Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js

Ability to own architecture decisions and deliver full-cycle features

Product mindset with a bias toward pragmatic, user-focused solutions

Cloud infrastructure experience, ideally with AWS

Bonus: Familiarity with React/Next.js is helpful but not required
