Optomi, in partnership with a leading technology innovator, is seeking a Junior AI Engineer for an exciting opportunity in Jersey City, NJ! This role is ideal for a software engineer with a strong Python development background and hands-on experience building LLM applications, including prompting, tool calling, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). The right candidate will work on innovative projects involving embeddings, vector search, and retrieval pipelines while leveraging OpenTelemetry to enhance application observability. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with emerging AI technologies while contributing to impactful projects!
What the right candidate will enjoy! The opportunity to work on innovative projects involving LLM applications and emerging AI technologies! Collaborating with a dynamic team on cutting-edge machine learning and data retrieval projects! Hands-on experience developing and optimizing retrieval pipelines, embeddings, and vector search! A 6-month contract opportunity with a strong likelihood of extension!
Experience of the right candidate: 3+ years of experience in software development. Proficiency in Python. Experience with LLM applications (prompting, tool calling, RAG). Knowledge of embeddings/vector search. Familiarity with retrieval pipelines and evaluations. Understanding of OpenTelemetry.
Responsibilities of the right candidate: Develop and optimize retrieval pipelines. Implement and evaluate embeddings and vector search methodologies.
