Job Description
The Junior AI Engineer within the Transformation Office builds and operates production Generative AI agents, workflows, and applications that support Casualty and Care transformation initiatives. Working under a Principal AI Engineer, this role ships full-stack software β Python services, React surfaces, AWS infrastructure, and CI/CD β rather than prototypes, notebooks, or demonstrations. Operating at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI, the Junior AI Engineer translates scoped problems into working, observable, secure systems and grows into forward-deployed work with examiners and operations. This is not a training seat for Generative AI. The colleague in this role has already taken an agent, workflow, or AI application to production, including failure handling and a human review loop, and is hired to do that work at Sedgwick while building domain depth.
Skills and Requirements
Two (2) to four (4) years of software engineering experience, including personally taking at least one Generative AI agent, workflow, or application to production β with failure handling and a human review loop, not a notebook, demo, or ChatGPT wrapper β or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hands-on experience developing and operating services on AWS required. Cloud certification without production ownership is not sufficient. Hands-on experience with Python, React, GitHub Actions, and Terraform required. Experience in insurance, claims, healthcare, or another heavily regulated operational domain preferred.
We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or the recruiting process, please send a request to HR@insightglobal.com.
