founding engineer , building the core AI engine from scratch and laying the foundation for a global category-defining platform.
Responsibilities
Design, prototype, and build
the AI intelligence engine (candidate matching, profiling, reasoning, shortlisting).
Ship the MVP
in collaboration with product and design, delivering working systems into client pilots.
Run
hands-on experimentation
with LLMs, embeddings, RAG, multi-agent systems, and evaluation pipelines.
Build the
technical foundations
for scaling into enterprise SaaS.
Partner with the founding team on
strategy, fundraising, and client conversations , while remaining close to code.
Shape the
engineering culture , establishing best practices for future hires.
Requirements
Education : MS/PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, or Applied Mathematics from a
top-tier university
(e.g., Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Cornell, UPenn, Brown, Dartmouth, ETH, EPFL, Carnegie Mellon).
Experience : 5+ years in applied AI/ML, with direct work on
LLMs, NLP, embeddings, RAG, or distributed systems .
Background : Experience at a
leading AI lab
(OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepMind, Cohere, Adept, Inflection) or
Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, distributed training , and deployment in
cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) .
Mindset : A
builder-first
engineer who thrives in 0→1 environments — combining academic rigor with the scrappiness of a startup founder.
