This position is a hybrid role, requiring the employee to work both onsite and remotely. Candidates should be comfortable with a flexible work arrangement that balances in-office collaboration and remote work. Specific onsite days and remote days will be coordinated with the team and manager. Artificial Intelligence is a foundational pillar in the product strategy for Splunk and Cisco, and we are building best-in-class AI capabilities into our platform, security and observability products to help our customers to accelerate their journey to digital resilience. We are looking for a Distinguished Engineer with outstanding technical leadership in the AI/ML area to drive our high-priority AI initiatives with a clear technology roadmap to deliver innovations across our product portfolio. This role will partner closely with ML Scientists, ML Engineers and Product Managers, and provide technical guidance to the cross-functional teams throughout the product development life cycle, from critical thinking and architecture design to implementation, execution and holding the teams accountable for delivery goals. Your Impact

Define and evolve the technical vision and strategy for AI/ML capabilities across our product portfolio! Shape and drive our AI technology roadmap with modern innovations to deliver best-in-class AI solutions to our customers! Work with the leadership team to build awareness and alignment to accelerate the rollout and adoption of AI technologies. Effectively connect with and influence key collaborators across the enterprise, at all levels of the organization. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the cross-functional team and promote a culture of engineering excellence. Collaborate with fellow technical leaders to ensure the successful and timely delivery of AI/ML models and service integration. Identify and mitigate risks in our plans and executions, especially at the intersection of business and engineering. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors + 17 years of related experience, or Masters + 14 years of related experience, or PhD + 10 years of related experience In-depth knowledge and consistent track record in AI/ML technology, including deep learning, time series modeling, natural language processing, and unsupervised learning. In-depth knowledge and proven track record in Generative AI technology and Large Language Models (LLM). Demonstrated experience in leading impactful AI product development at scale. Demonstrated experience in developing large-scale, complex models and deploying them in production systems. Demonstrated experience in large-scale data processing and parallel computing – GPU, multi-GPU and distributed training. Demonstrated experience in building strong internal and external partnerships. Commitment to staying up-to-date with the field and applying academic advances to solve complex business problems, and bringing them into production. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate research insights into practical solutions that address real-world challenges. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in mentoring and guiding junior researchers or team members. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the Cybersecurity and/or Observability industry is preferred.
