Role
Director of AI Engineering responsible for building and scaling AI capabilities across drug discovery, clinical development, and manufacturing within a biopharma setting focused on cardiovascular, metabolic, and pulmonary diseases. Responsibilities
lead development of production AI applications including generative AI, semantic search, and document intelligence; design and optimize a centralized AI platform; oversee ML lifecycle, CI/CD, and MLOps practices; partner with clinical and scientific teams to automate workflows and enhance data use; ensure AI systems meet regulatory and security standards; mentor engineering teams, evaluate vendors and models, and contribute hands-on coding. Requirements
BA/BS in computer science or related field; 8+ years in AI, machine learning, or software engineering; proficiency in Python, SQL, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP); experience deploying AI in regulated environments; demonstrated leadership in technical teams and platform development. Preferred
domain-specific experience in clinical trial automation, regulated content, scientific imaging, or healthcare data; familiarity with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and clinical study workflows. High-Value
focus on life sciences/clinical AI applications, regulated content management, and integration with scientific data; remote with monthly onsite presence in South San Francisco, 10-20% travel.
