Job Title: AWS AI Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
Role Overview:
Seeking an experienced AWS AI Engineer to support modernization initiatives and build intelligent, scalable systems on AWS.
This role involves designing and deploying AI/ML-powered solutions, integrating models into production applications, building data pipelines, and contributing to platform transformation efforts. Ideal candidates bring strong end-to-end engineering experience with practical AI implementation-not just theoretical exposure.
Must-Have Skills:
8+ years of engineering experience designing AWS-based applications
Hands-on experience with AWS services such as:
SageMaker
Lambda
DynamoDB / Postgres
CloudFormation / CDK
EventBridge
S3
Experience integrating ML models into production systems
Strong programming skills (Python preferred; Go or JavaScript a plus)
Experience building or consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs
Understanding of ML workflows, inferencing, and model lifecycle
Strong knowledge of distributed systems architecture
Ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with GenAI tools or embedding models into applications (LLM workflows, embeddings, semantic search)
Experience with
AWS Bedrock
Kendra
Step Functions
Glue or Athena
Modernizing legacy or mainframe workloads
Exposure to financial systems, capital markets, or regulated environments
Knowledge of
Feature stores
Model drift monitoring
Automated model retraining
Experience with enterprise CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CodePipeline)
