What You Will Do
As an
Applied AI Engineer , you'll lead end-to-end projects deploying LLMs and machine learning models into production. You'll be working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and operations teams to solve real business problems. Your work will directly contribute to key outcomes like user growth, revenue, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
Designing, building, and deploying AI/ML models with real-world business impact
Taking full ownership of projects from ideation to production and iteration
Collaborating across the tech stack - backend to frontend - to integrate ML into product features
Working closely with leadership and cross-functional partners to identify high-leverage opportunities
Constantly iterating and optimizing for speed, performance, and impact in a high-growth environment
Ideal Candidate Background
0-15 years of professional experience as an AI/ML Engineer, Applied Scientist, or similar role
Proven experience deploying machine learning solutions into production environments
Strong product sense with an ability to think through real-world tradeoffs
Background working at high-quality startups or top-tier companies (e.g., Stripe, Square, Scale AI)
Track record of owning projects end-to-end, including infrastructure, modeling, and post-launch iteration
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or related technical field (top-tier schools preferred)
Former founders are highly valued
Preferred
Familiarity with modern AI tooling and frameworks: LLM APIs, PyTorch, TensorFlow
Full-stack development skills: Python, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL
Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, especially Kubernetes
Exceptional communication skills and a low-ego, collaborative mindset
Recognition in top student programs (e.g., Pear Fellow, Neo Scholar) is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary: $150,000 - $225,000
Equity: Competitive, meaningful ownership
Location: Onsite in SoHo, NYC (in-person, 5 days/week)
