I’m working with a major New York-based organisation looking to hire an Applied AI Engineer to join its growing technology and AI function.
This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on building and deploying production‑grade AI solutions that solve real business problems. You’ll work closely with engineering, data and business teams to take AI initiatives from concept through to production.
The role
Design, build and deploy production-ready AI and machine learning applications
Develop solutions using LLMs, generative AI and modern AI frameworks
Build scalable APIs, services and data pipelines supporting AI products
Work with structured and unstructured datasets
Integrate AI capabilities into existing platforms and business workflows
Evaluate model performance, reliability and business impact
Collaborate with software engineers, data teams and stakeholders
Help establish best practices around applied AI engineering and deployment
What we’re looking for
Strong software engineering background, ideally Python
Commercial experience building AI/ML solutions
Hands‑on experience with Generative AI and LLM-based applications
Experience taking AI solutions beyond prototypes into production
Strong understanding of APIs, cloud environments and modern development practices
Experience with areas such as RAG, embeddings, vector databases or AI agents would be advantageous
Ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
