Applied AI Engineer | Generative AI in Healthcare

The Role
We’re looking for an Applied AI Engineer to design, build, and scale real-world AI workflows. You’ll be hands-on with deploying generative AI applications, developing agentic workflows, and integrating AI systems into production environments.
You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable, production-grade AI solutions that solve real problems in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deploy agentic workflows and automation pipelines (around 60% of the role)
Build and maintain production-ready services, APIs, and integrations (around 30%)
Ship production features in days, not months, emphasizing speed and pragmatism
Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams
Evaluate and integrate state-of-the-art LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, etc.)
Contribute to building a scalable workflow infrastructure supporting 100+ use cases
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus four years, or Master’s degree plus two years, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Strong software engineering foundation (Python required)
One to two years of experience building AI-powered applications (ChatGPT, Claude, Anthropic, Mistral, etc.)
Hands-on experience with REST API development and cloud deployment (GCP preferred)
Understanding of MLOps, model deployment, and workflow automation
Preferred Skills
Background in software engineering leading into machine learning
Experience with agentic workflows, prompt tuning, or automation frameworks
Startup experience with a bias for speed and execution
Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
