MBN Solutions are supporting an Applied AI start-up, based in San Francisco to find their next AI Engineering Lead.
The company builds the next generation of
personal AI —private, user-owned, and designed to run directly on people’s devices.
They require an AI
technical leader
(former CTO or senior tech lead of a consumer AI product) who shares our passion for
privacy and user sovereignty .
You’ll lead application development across
desktop, mobile, and future platforms , shaping how individuals interact with their own AI.
You’ll thrive here if you have:
✅ Experience deploying AI in real-world consumer products
✅ Strong grasp of modern language model architectures, quantization & on-device optimization
✅ Hands-on familiarity with the open-source AI stack (e.g. lightweight inference runtimes, device-level ML frameworks)
✅ Deep knowledge of native app ecosystems (especially Apple platforms)
✅ Background in system-level programming & performance tuning
✅ A product-minded, user-first approach
Bonus points for:
⭐ Contributions to open-source or research in AI/ML
⭐ Experience with trusted execution, enclaves, or privacy-preserving ML
