Role Description

CTG is seeking to fill an AI Engineer (LLM / Generative AI) opening for our premier client.

We are seeking a US-based contractor to support a strategic initiative focused on AI-enabled solutions and intelligent automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), modern AI application architectures, and strong software engineering fundamentals. This role involves designing and developing scalable AI-driven applications, integrating data solutions, and contributing to innovative automation workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and support AI-enabled applications and intelligent automation solutions

Build and integrate solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI workflows

Develop scalable backend applications using object-oriented programming principles

Create and maintain APIs, services, and integrations using .NET/C# or Java technologies

Work with relational and non-relational/document databases to manage structured and unstructured data

Implement Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns and AI knowledge retrieval solutions

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design technical solutions aligned with business goals

Support data and analytics initiatives by integrating AI-driven insights into applications

Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and reliability issues across applications and data systems

Contribute to architecture discussions, technical documentation, and best practices

Qualifications

Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-powered application development

Familiarity with agentic AI workflows and intelligent automation concepts

Strong object-oriented programming skills

Proficiency in .NET/C# preferred; Java experience also acceptable

Solid understanding of relational databases and non-relational/document databases

Knowledge of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and implementation patterns

Experience handling document databases and unstructured datasets

Exposure to data engineering, analytics, or reporting solutions

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solution design skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Must be based in the United States and available during Eastern Time business hours

Preferred Qualifications

Experience building enterprise AI or automation platforms

Familiarity with cloud platforms and AI services

Experience working in agile software development environments

Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Salary

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $70 to $80 hourly. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
