We're looking for an AI Engineer to join our technology team and serve as an embedded consultant across the business. This isn't a siloed engineering role — you'll partner directly with teams in HR, Finance, and other departments to identify high-impact opportunities for AI-driven automation and tooling, then build and deploy the solutions yourself.
You'll be the connective tissue between what our business teams need and what's technically possible with modern AI platforms. Think less ticket-taker and more internal product builder — scoping problems, designing solutions, and shipping apps, bots, and agents that make real workflows faster and smarter.
You will sit within the technology organization, but operate cross-functionally, rotating across departments like HR, Finance, Operations, and others to understand their processes and pain points. Build and deploy AI-powered applications, bots, and intelligent agents tailored to each team's specific needs. Leverage Glean and Claude as core platforms, integrating them into practical business workflows. Act as an internal AI consultant — translating business problems into technical solutions and managing projects from concept through deployment. Deploy and support fellow engineers on AI initiatives as the practice scales. Evaluate emerging tools and frameworks, recommending where and how to expand AI capabilities across the organization.
They'll need someone who's fully authorized to work in the US without any sponsorship / visa ( cannot support H-1B visa ).
This is a hybrid 6-12 month contract and must live in the greater DC area.
